WHO'S HOT

Joe Halahuni

The sophomore tight end turned into a major passing threat with his most productive career game. He had team-highs with nine catches and 127 yards, with a long of 42 yards.

WHAT'S NOT

OSU's luck

The Beavers caught every break when they upset USC in the past. They didn't get them this time. Penalties, general breakdowns and injuries added up.

TURNING POINT

Johnson appears

USC's Stafon Johnson made an emotional appearance, after recovering from a weightlifting throat injury, between the first and second quarters. He rallied the crowd and his teammates, and the Trojans took control of the game winning the quarter 14-3. They never relinquished the lead.

KEY STAT

429

The Trojans gained 429 yards, 227 on the ground and 202 passing. The Beavers couldn't come up with a stop when they needed in the end.

INJURY REPORT

+ Reserve DT Mitchel Hunt (knee) left the game at the end of the first quarter. He did not return, and was on crutches in the second half.

+ Starting RB Jacquizz Rodgers (ankle) was hurt early in the second quarter. He retuned in the third quarter.

+ Starting WR James Rodgers (bruised knee) was hurt in the fourth quarter, but returned.

TRENDS

Losing to USC in Los Angeles is the thing to do, especially for the Beavers. They dropped their 22nd straight road game in the series, dating back to 1960. Their record in L.A. against the Trojans fell to 3-40-3.

SERIES SCORING

The overall series is just as lopsided with USC leading 59-10-4. And it's not just the outcomes. The Trojans have scored 1,914 points in all the games combined to OSU's 736 points.

BIG CROWD

There were 89,718 fans in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to watch the game. That's the largest crowd to witness OSU and USC play live. It surpassed the previous record of 85,713 in 2007.

RARE FUMBLE

James Rodgers lost a fumble for the first time in his career on OSU's second drive of the game. DE Wes Horton stripped it from him. Three plays later the Trojans score a TD. That was OSU's fourth fumble of the season and the first one lost.

QUICK HITS

+ Jacquizz Rodgers scored his 25th career rushing TD, which tied him with Bill Enyart (1966-68) for the fourth most in OSU history.

+ Mike Riley's record after bye weeks fell to 9-4. He had won the previous seven.

+ CB James Dockery intercepted a pass in the first quarter. It was the first of his career.

+ RB Ryan McCants entered the game in the second quarter for his first appearance since offseason knee surgery.

+ DT Castro Masaniai didn't make the trip due to nagging injuries. Tonu Tumalealifano took his place.
