Knights sponsoring baseball camps

The Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League are co-sponsoring the remaining Tuesday evening All Skills Baseball Camps for students in grades 2-8 at Goss Stadium.

Camp instructors are current Oregon State baseball players and the sessions are supervised by pitching coach Nate Yeskie. Interested players can pre-register at www.oregonstatebaseballcamp.com/camps.cfm or sign-up at Goss Stadium the evening of the camp.

Each Tuesday session runs from 5:15 pm to 7 pm. The camp cost is $10 per session with scholarships available. The final session is November 24.

Gymnastics meet set

PEAK Elite will host more than 200 gymnasts from around the state of Oregon at the PEAK Elite Fall Classic on Oct. 17-18 in Corvallis.

Sixteen members of the PEAK Elite gymnastics team will compete in this compulsory meet along with gymnasts from Eugene, Portland, Albany, and Redmond. Cost is $5.

Fall basketball registration

The Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis is registering for its fall basektball program for boys and girls grades 1-4. The program runs Nov. 2 through Dec. 18 with a cost of $50. Registration ends Oct. 17.

Volunteer coaches are also needed for the program and must be high school age or older. For more information, call 757-1909 or go to www.bgccorvallis.org.

Parks & Recreation fall youth sports opportunities

The Corvallis Parks & Recreation Department is registering for its fall youth sports programs. Flag football is open to grades 3-5 and volleyball is open to grades 3-5 and 6-8. Practices for these programs are held twice a week right after school with games on Saturday mornings.

The cost is $25 for in city residents and $32 for out of city residents.

Intro to Football is open to grades 1-2 and runs on Saturday mornings. Play & Sports Skills is for children ages 3-5 and meets on Friday mornings to have fun playing games, learning sports and developing social skills. The fee for these programs is $20 for in city residents and $25 for out of city residents.

Golf tourney at Diamond Woods

MONROE - Openings still remain to play in the Fourth Couples Classic, scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday at the Diamond Woods Golf Course. It is held in honor of the late Sue Jensen.

Entry fees are $45 per person, $25 for members, and include golf, range balls, lunch and awards. Carts are not required but are recommended for $15 per person.
