Corvallis' 25th annual Community Christmas Parade will kick off the day after Thanksgiving - 7 p.m. Nov. 27 - and it's not too late to be part of the parade.

The parade route goes north on Fourth Street from Washington to Jackson avenues and will include floats, walking groups, animals, kinetic sculptures, music and other entries. The theme this year is "Winter Nights Lit Up By Christmas Lights."

The grand marshals for this year's parade are members of the American Legion Color Guard, who have led the parade for each of the previous 24 years and who are being honored for their service to the holiday parade.

At the end of the parade, the Benton County Courthouse will be the backdrop for a celebration of songs and lights. The Singing Leslies will lead the crowd in singing holiday carols. The ceremony will finish with the traditional lighting of the Benton County Courthouse and the holiday tree.

For more information about the parade or an entry form, call the Downtown Corvallis Association at 754-6624.
