OSU to host career fairs

Next week Oregon State University Career Services will hold its annual winter career fairs.

Tuesday will be the university-wide fair, and the engineering career fair will take place Wednesday. Both events are open and free to all OSU students and alumni, and will help students learn about career opportunities, as well as assist organizations in connecting with students as interns and future employees.

More than 200 organizations are participating in the fairs, including several returning attendees, such as Hewlett-Packard, as well as many new organizations, including Nike. For a list of all organizations attending, see Career Services' Web site at http://oregonstate.edu/career/.

Although career fairs take place every fall, winter and spring at OSU, this is the first year the events will be part of OSU Campus Wellness Week.

Campus Wellness Week, which begins Monday and concludes Friday, is a cross-campus collaboration to promote awareness of wellness as more than just physical activity. To see the list of events, see OSU Recreation Sports' Web site at http://oregon

state.edu/recsports.

Additionally, OSU Career Services hosts Career Week in the days leading up to the fairs. Workshops and events are offered to help students prepare for the career fairs and their job and internship searches.

This winter's Career Week runs today through Monday, and features programs such as resume and internship help and networking events with employers. Today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom, students can buy suits for $15 as part of OSU's Career Makeover: Wardrobe Edition.

For a full list of events, see Career Services' annual calendar online at http://oregonstate.edu/career/calendar0607.pdf.
