Gazette-Times

Oregon State rose in the three national baseball rankings released on Monday. The Beavers, who won two of three games this past weekend to capture the Coca-Cola Classic tournament at Surprise, Ariz., are ranked ninth by Baseball America magazine and Collegiate Baseball newspaper, and seventh by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

OSU is ranked 15th in the USA Today/ESPN poll.

The Beavers were 7-0 before losing 6-5 to Gonzaga in the first game of the tournament. They then defeated 14th-ranked Arizona State 12-4 on Feb. 10 and Missouri 9-2 on Feb. 11.

OSU travels to the River City Classic in Sacramento and Davis, Calif., this weekend. It plays at UC-Davis at 2 p.m. Friday, against St. Mary’s (Calif.) at Sacramento State on Saturday at 10 a.m., and at Sacramento State on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Civil War set for 3 p.m.

The starting time for second game of the men’s basketball Civil War has been set for 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at McArthur Court in Eugene. It will be televised by the Oregon Sports Network on KEZI, channel 9.
